Jeppesen now offers to European pilots a completely digital VFR manual and other pertinent information for visual flying. JeppView combines electronic VFR and IFR charts with powerful features, such as a moving map display, search and filter options, route planning, trip kit printing, and more. The electronic VFR manual covers over 2,200 airports and aerodromes in 29 European countries. With JeppView VFR and IFR pilots alike can take advantage of the many benefits electronic charts provide. No longer will pilots have to hand-file paper revisions in their manuals. Updates are now simply a matter of a quick Internet download every two weeks, or a CD-based revision service can be specified for an additional fee.
Plus, with GPS position data JeppView FliteDeck provides increased situational awareness in all phases of flight through its moving map display. Pilots may choose between services that offer only VFR charts, only IFR charts, or both VFR and IFR. JeppView interfaces seamlessly with Jeppesens flight planning application, FliteStar. JeppView runs on nearly all Windows-based computers, including tablets or laptops that allow pilots to create a Portable Electronic Device (PED) solution.
The JeppView Initial Software is required for any JeppView VFR revision service, and can only be ordered in combination with it. A revision service is always active for 12 months, updated via internet.
